What’s Coming in Title Update 2

Title Update 2

Last Updated:June 28, 2025

Capcom announced that the next title update to Monster Hunter Wilds releases at the end of the month on June 30th. This is the second title update our of four that have been announced. Here's a look at the content coming to the game.

Steam Performance Improvements

Monster Hunter Wilds is adding support for DLSS4 and FSR4 graphics upscaling to improve performance on Steam. DLSS4 requires an NVIDIA RTX 2000 series or higher GPU. FSR4 needs an AMD Radeon 9000 series or higher GPU. In addition, upscaling and frame generation have been separated in the graphics settings, so frame generation can be set regardless of the upscaling setting. On top of that, VRAM texture usage is reduced, and an issue where the VRAM usage displayed incorrect values for the distant shadow quality option in Graphics settings is fixed. Lastly, an issue where the Estimated VRAM Usage in the Display/Graphics settings was calculated lower than the actual value is fixed. This may cause your VRAM to appear higher even though its usage is lower.

Legiacrus

Legiacrus

The long wait for Legiacrus' return is finally over. Legiacrus appears in the Scarlet Forest and attacks with a combination of water and lightning. While this is the first time we have seen Legiacrus in a modern Monster Hunter game, we can see from its intro trailer that it favors lunging attacks, sometimes bolstered by an electrical discharge. It also uses it's claws and tail to strike at the hunter.

Legiacrus is the only monster that you can engage in combat with underwater. While you cannot swing your weaponl (this is not the full return of underwater combat), there are several unique actions that you can only perform underwater while fighting Legiacrus. The team described it as more of an accent to the fight than a major theme, but it is a wonderful tribute to the underwater combat that was the special feature of MH3, where Legiacrus was introduced.

Seregios

STEVE 1024 X 571

The Capcom Showcase also revealed that Seregios is coming in title update 2. Seregios is a highly agile monster that can attack at range by flinging its razor-sharp scales at you. It often attacks using jumps and dives with its claws, and can make the hunter bleed, similar to Ebony Odogarron. While we have seen Seregios in the modern title Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the team seemed much more interested in advancing its original fight from MH4U than in reproducing the fight from Sumbreak. As such, Seregios may be very different, and in its intro clip we already saw movements and an attack that are brand new to the monster.

Layered Weapons

Title Update 2 also adds the ability to equip layered weapons. The system works similarly to layered armor, and changes the appearance of your weapon without impacting its stats. Layered weapons are unlocked in a variety of ways, depending on the type of weapon. For most weapons, crafting the last weapon in a tree unlocks it as a layered weapon. All 3 levels of Artian layered weapons are unlocked by fully reinforcing a rarity 8 weapon. Palico weapons are unlocked after forging their high rank version.

Weapon Adjustments

Many weapons are receiving a variety of changes in Title Update 2. The changes are too numerous to list all of them here, but there are a few standouts.

  • Charge blade guard points are now capable of perfect blocks, and you can chain them into a savage axe slash on a perfect guard point.
  • Charge blade explosive phial damage has been increased for base, amped, and super amped elemental discharge.
  • Hammer now has an offset follow-up, and upswing and charged upswing are now offset attacks.
  • The elemental explosions on charge blade sword attacks have significantly increased damage.
  • Dual blades have received a buff to raw damage on several of their attacks, and demon mode now has a decreased raw bonus, but an increased elemental bonus.
  • Lastly, support hunters will now deal increased damage when the party leader is HR 100 or higher.

Timed Leaderboard Quest Changes

Quests that give rewards based on timed leaderboards are changing. Prior, you received 2 pendants for completion and another for an A rank completion time. Going forward, it rewards a pendant for a completion, another for a rank B time, and a third for a rank A time. Capcom will continue to remove illegitimate times from the leaderboard, and players caught cheating will be banned.
