Forge Guard Tournament Results
Our Forge Guard Arena Tournament has come to a close, and we're here to bring you the Final Results. Additional Information
Settling on a Schedule
This event was our very first Tournament in this style, hosted through Maxroll. Naturally, we identified areas where we could improve the scheduling to make the process smoother from Start to Finish. In the future, Tournaments will be starting at 7:00 PM UTC, a few hours later than the original scheduled start time of this one. This adjusted schedule enables us to immediately conclude the Tournament and provide the Final Results wrap-up to you as soon as possible.
Developing our Leaderboard
We had some trouble with our Leaderboard as the Forge Guard Tournament progressed. Initially, we had issues with Characters on the Ladder not syncing correctly. We resolved this issue as soon as possible, and it should no longer be a problem in future Tournaments.
Additionally, within the last 24 hours of the Tournament, the community brought to our attention that dead Hardcore characters could continue pushing in Softcore and updating their Hardcore Waves. This information came too late for us to course-correct and implement a fix for this event. That said, we are working on this and will have a solution for the Tournament following the next one.
In the meantime, the next Tournament will be a strictly Softcore event. Temporarily removing Hardcore for the next Tournament allows us time to develop more robust Leaderboard functionality while avoiding any unfair Arena pushes. Some positive news is that this Leaderboard update will also come with many more tools for us to use in creating Tournaments with more specific and unique themes. This update to our Leaderboard tools is something we weren't expecting to see until closer to Last Epoch Season 3 or after, so our team is excited for the near future of our Events.
Finally, we are deeply sorry for the errors encountered with our Leaderboard for this first event. Although not everyone was affected, at the end of the day, we want to create a system where everyone who wants to play Last Epoch with the community can jump in and play in a fair setting without having to think about how or if our results are updating correctly. Adapting our Leaderboard to a Tournament setting highlighted some areas that we can improve on for next time, and we are working hard on that now.
We would also like to include a section here to extend a special thank you to our developer, Spirit, who has been working on our Leaderboard. Our Forge Guard Arena Tournament was occurring at the same time as the launch of our Elden Ring Nightreign Branch, as well as the beginning of the updates to our Path of Exile content for 3.26, and Spirit still tried to find the time to field our issues as our event was ongoing - and has been working closely with us to accommodate our particular needs to make these Last Epoch Arena Tournaments happen. Thank you, Spirit.
Future Events
The next Tournament will be focusing on another Mastery with low representation - the Rogue's Bladedancer. In a Last Epoch Dev stream, Mike showed a spreadsheet listing Bladedancer as the Mastery with the fewest tracked Uber Aberroth kills. Our Bladedancer Tournament will be our chance to look deeper into this Mastery, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and explore an underutilized Skill. We're kicking off this Bladedancer Tournament on Friday, June 20th. Keep an eye out for more information next week.
Thank You for Playing
This concludes our wrap-up of the Forge Guard Arena Tournament. Thank you all so much for playing. Our Last Epoch team had a blast playing alongside you and theorycrafting builds together. We look forward to seeing you in the next one - Leaderboard fixes included!
