Omnioculus Void Hunter Build

Heresy

Last Updated:February 9, 2025|Changelog

Welcome to the Omnioculus Void Hunter Build Guide! This build provides on-demand Invisibility for you and everyone in your fireteam, allowing you to control the battlefield and mitigate damage. On the offensive side of things, you have On the Prowl which marks a random enemy every time you go invisible, defeating this enemy gives your team Ability Energy and creates a Smoke Cloud which grants Invisibility when walked through. You further support your fireteam by Weakening enemies using your Snare Bomb or Shadowshot: Moebius Quiver.

Omnioculus is the cornerstone of this Void Hunter build, providing an extra Snare Bomb and granting both ability regeneration and significant damage resistance. These benefits make it the perfect choice for crafting an ultimate survivability build that keeps you and your fireteam alive and in control. The Omnioculus Void Hunter Build remains a reliable choice for endgame content, including Grandmaster Nightfalls.

Pros
  • High ability uptime
  • Easy overshields and invisibility
  • Tether weakens and suppresses enemies
Cons
  • Stat dependent
  • Passive playstyle

Gameplay Loop

This build revolves around Invisibility and building ability regeneration for your Snare Bomb.

  1. Position yourself near one or more allies and activate Quickfall to expend your melee charge and dive to the ground. Check your Trapper's Ambush Aspect for the button bound to Quickfall. If you're in a pinch, you can just throw your Snare Bomb at the ground for the same effect but with a reduced duration. Do this as often as possible!
  2. Enemies caught in the resulting smoke cloud are Weakened and Disoriented, while allies become Invisible and gain 50% damage resistance. Because you've made yourself Invisible, you trigger On the Prowl. Thanks to Omnioculus, you also received 50% Melee Ability Energy for each ally made Invisible.
  3. Clean up Weakened enemies and targets marked by On the Prowl using your Void weapon to generate Weakening Smoke Clouds in the enemies' backline and Orbs of Power via Harmonic Siphon. Collecting these Orbs grants Devour and builds Armor Charge, accelerating your Grenade cooldown with Grenade Kickstart.
  4. Whenever you don't have full melee charge, Gambler's Dodge near enemies to refund one Snare Bomb or throw your Vortex Grenade at tougher enemies to leech Melee Energy off of them thanks to Echo of Provision.
  5. Repeat this cycle. The Omnioculus Exotic Chest elevates your Void Hunter's already powerful toolkit by extending your Invisibility uptime with an additional Snare Bomb and incredible melee ability regeneration.

Ability Breakdown

Super

  • Shadowshot: Moebius Quiver
    • Fire two volleys of three Void Arrows that seek out enemies. After a 1-second delay, each Void Anchor activates, applying Weaken, Suppress, and Volatile, increasing enemy damage taken by 30%.

Abilities

  • Gambler's Dodge - Dodge near enemies to immediately refund your Snare Bomb.
  • Triple Jump - Use the jump you prefer.
  • Snare Bomb - In this build, Trapper's Ambush transforms our melee into a Quickfall that leaves a smoke cloud behind, damaging and Weakening enemies.
  • Vortex Grenade - This grenade pulls targets inward and generates significant amounts of Melee Ability energy thanks to Echo of Provision.

Casting an ability or shooting a weapon breaks invisibility!

Aspects

  • Trapper's Ambush - Consumes your Snare Bomb to give you and nearby allies Invisibility, as well as makes nearby enemies Weakened.
  • On the Prowl - Going Invisible marks a random enemy, your team can see this enemy through walls. Defeating a marked enemy gives your entire team Melee, Grenade, and Class Ability Energy, as well as a handful of buffs that make Weapons easier to use. When a marked enemy dies, a Smoke Cloud erupts from their corpse which Weakens enemies and makes allies Invisibile.

Fragments

  • Echo of Provision - Your grenade now generates Melee Ability energy every time it hits an enemy.
  • Echo of Harvest - Defeat Weakened targets to create orbs of power and a Void Breach. Picking up Orbs grant you Super energy, and Void Breaches grant you dodge energy.
  • Echo of Starvation - Picking up an Orb of Power or a Void Breach grants you Devour. While Devour is active, final blows restore health, grant grenade energy, and extend the duration of Devour.
  • Echo of Persistence - Void buffs applied to you have an extended duration. This extends the duration of Devour and Void Overshields by 50% and the duration of Invisibility by 40%.
  • Echo of Obscurity - Finish an enemy to go Invisibile, handy for when you don't have any Snare Bomb charges.

Gearing

Required Gear and Weapons

Omnioculus – This Exotic grants an additional Snare Bomb charge and refunds half a charge when you make an ally Invisible (a full refund if you make 2 or more allies Invisible). It also provides 50% damage resistance for you and your allies while Invisible. Omnioculus on a Void Hunter is an easy way to amplify both your abilities and your team's survivability.

WARNING: Beyond Light DLC is required to unlock the Omnioculus Exotic armor piece.

How to acquire:

  • Focus Exotic Engrams at Rahool in the Tower.
  • Complete the Vex Strike Force Public Event on Neomuna.

Stat Priorities

  • Resilience, then Mobility, and then Strength.
  • Resilience is the most crucial stat to focus on. Aim for 100 Resilience to maximize your damage resistance and shield capacity, ensuring better survivability in challenging encounters.
  • Mobility reduces your dodge cooldown allowing you to recharge your Snare Bomb with Gambler's Dodge.
  • Strength reduces your melee cooldown. Dodging near enemies can refund a melee charge, but it's helpful to have high Strength in harder activities where you can't always be near enemies. If your Snare Bomb is recharging frequently, consider shifting some of your stat priority to Discipline to improve your grenade recharge rate.
