Welcome to the Dream Interpretation Crafting Guide! In the Twinightmare Season, Hunters use Dream Interpretation to enhance their items. Begin Dream Interpretation by speaking to Patty within Ember's Rest or your map.
There are 2 types of Dream Interpretation:
- Normal Dream Interpretation requires Shallow Dream Talking.
- This replaces an item's Implicit with one Dream affix, and one Nightmare affix.
- Advanced Dream Interpretation requires Profound Dream Talking.
- Profound Dream Talking primarily drops from Paloma.
- This is used to target craft Powerful Dream affixes on your items.
Dream Interpretation
Using Dream Interpretation on an item is the last step in your crafting journey, as it renders the item uncraftable by normal means (you can still apply Enchantments after). You begin Dream Interpretation by spending Shallow Dream Talking to add a positive Sweet Dream Affix, if you don't like any of the 3 options offered you can abandon the craft and forfeit the materials used. Then you select one of the 3 negative Nightmare affixes offered (yes, this is mandatory)! When the Dream affixes are applied to your items, they replace the Implicit. You can equip 3 items with Dream affixes at any given time, so pick your bases carefully. Items under the influence of the Dream affixes have a small Lotus icon in your inventory and equipment screen.

Dream and Nightmare Affixes
Here's a reference guide for the ways in which Dream Interpretation can modify your crafting projects:
Dream Affixes
- Happy Dream
- Add an implicit to the item based on modifiers which normally roll.
- Lucky Dream
- When the affix is lower than T1-2, upgrade it by 1-2 Tiers (up to T0).
- Confusing Dream
- When the affix is higher than T2-3, upgrade it by 1 Tier.
- Auspicious Dream
- Maximize the numerical values for all rolls on the item.
Nightmare Affixes
- Dangerous Nightmare
- Downgrade a random affix by 1-3 tiers.
- Disastrous Nightmare
- Affixes Adjacent to affix 1-6 are reduced by 1-2.
- Haunting Nightmare
- Downgrade all Suffixes by 1 tier or downgrade all Prefixes by 1 tier.
- Ominous Nightmare
- Replace a random affix with a Blemish.
The exact affixes offered varies by base type, in general Weapons have more powerful affixes, making them a better candidate for Profound Dream Talking.
Pro Tip: If you replace an empty Affix Slot with a Blemish, there is no modifier to replace and you can place an enchantment in the slot after!
Profound Dream Talking
Obtain Profound Dream Talking by defeating Queen Paloma or completing Nightmares to take your Dream Interpretation to the next level. This version uses one of your item's "Readings" and offers significantly more potent Dream affixes than regular Dream Interpretation. Like before, you pick 1 Dream affix and 1 Nightmare affix from the options offered, but the affixes offered are significantly more potent.
Profound Dream Affixes
- Deep Dream
- Add a powerful implicit to the item based on modifiers which normally roll.
- Leisurely Dream
- Upgrades the affixes next to a random affix by 1-3 tiers.
- Delighted Dream
- Upgrades all Suffixes by 1-2 tiers or upgrades all Prefixes by 1-2 tiers.
- Romantic Dream
- Replace a random affix with one of several powerful modifiers.
Profound Nightmare Affixes
- Dangerous Nightmare
- Downgrade a random affix by 1-3 Tiers.
- Disasterous Nightmare
- Affixes Adjacent to affix 1-6 are reduced by 1-2.
- Haunting Nightmare
- Downgrade all Suffixes by 1 tier or downgrade all Prefixes by 1 tier.
- Ominous Nightmare
- Replace a random affix with a Blemish
Use Rewind to remove the effects of Dream Interpretation from your item, this re-enables crafting and removes any negative effects. However, Rewind does not restore Readings.
