Growing Breeze Identity

Forsaken Iris is a Summoner Hero that specializes in Empowering Spirit Magi. By placing a Spirit Magus Skill in an Active Skill Slot you can activate it every few seconds to grant your Spirit Magi Nourishment stacks which increase their damage significantly. Hero Traits such as Amazing Friends allow you to unlock the full potential of Spirit Magi by unlocking their Ultimate ability at the cost of -1 Maximum Spirit Magi Quantity and Socialite lets you build a larger army by increasing that number by 1 instead.

The leveling guide is intended to take your character to Level 80.
This is the last level with unlimited free respec points.
Be sure to check the final section of the guide for recommendations on how to transition into the Endgame!

Leveling Tips and Tricks

  • Your first Active Skill slot (top left in the Skills menu) is your "Main Skill," this matters because many items and Hero Traits have effects that only apply to the Main Skill.
  • If you're ever in doubt of where to go, click the campaign quest on the left of your screen and a golden path shows you the way.
  • Stay on level with the Zone as much as possible! You receive reduced experience for being too under or over leveled so ensure you kill enough monsters to remain as close to the zone level as possible.
  • When allocating Pact Points, prioritize Resistances first, then select Damage nodes until you fill the section. If you have leftover points, put them into Drop nodes as you begin farming the Netherrealm.
  • Complete all 10 Levels of the Hero Forge to unlock all of your Hero Trait abilities and gain 6 additional Talent Points.
  • All support gems become available from the Skill Shop at level 55. At this stage cross reference with the embeds to make sure you're set up for the Netherrealm.
  • In Chapter 4 gear you find comes with varying amounts of Energy, this can make it difficult to determine whether or not an item is an upgrade. In general if you don't get enough Energy to add a Support slot pick upgrades based on their stats. After changing your gear, be sure to go to the Energy Menu under Skills to reassign missing Energy.

Talents

Leveling Talent Tree

God of Machines

This is your core Talent Tree where you put your first 20 points before moving onto Alchemist. Return here later to allocate additional points.

Alchemist

Allocate 25 points in Alchemist. Source lets you use more Auras by reducing Sealed Mana for Spirit Magi Skills. Later return here and allocate 36 points to get Talons of Abyss which increases damage and Cooldown Recovery Speed of Spirit Magi for every stack of Growth they have.

Steel Vanguard

Finally, allocate 25 points in Steel Vanguard. Many Minor and Major talents in this Talent Tree reduce Sealed Mana which is required to fit all of your Auras. Then their effectiveness is increased thanks to Reflection. After you spend 36 points in Alchemist, return here to allocate Knowledgeable which increases the effectiveness of all Empower Skills including Iris's Trait Skill!

There are tons of different Talent Trees to explore, if you want to learn more about this robust system check out our Talent Tree Guide.

Traits, Relics and Memories

Hero Traits

Hero Traits, Relics & Memories

Level 32: Struggle Free reduces Sealed Mana for Spirit Magus Skills which allows you to use more Auras. On top of that it increases the maximum amount of Nourishment stacks by 2 which further increases the damage of your Spirit Magi.

Level 62: Socialite increases Maximum Spirit Magus Quantity by 1 which allows you to summon a total amount of 3 Spirit Magi. As a small penalty it increases the chance that Spirit Magus is going to lose a stack of Nourishment when it uses a Skill by 10%

Level 80: Grow With It makes scaling Spirit Magi with Skill Levels even more powerful by reducing the chance that they lose a stack of Nourishment when they use a Skill, by 3% per +1 Skill Level above base Skill level up to 42%. On top of that it grants Spirit Magi 3% chance per stack of Nourishment to deal 100% additional damage with -50% Attack and Cast speed penalty. Because slower cast speed reduces how often Spirit Magi lose a Nourishment stacks this "penalty" often acts as a bonus.

Relics and Memories

Look for any combination of the following stats on your Hero Relics and Memories;

Hero RelicHero Memories
% of your Empower Skill bonus also applies to Spirit Magi+ Max Nourishment stacks
Triggers Dazzling Bloom if there is an Elite nearbyIncreased chance for Spirit Magi to use an Enhanced Skill
Additional Growth per stack of Nourishment a Spirit Magus has% Spirit Magus Skill Area

The Netherrealm

Racing through your Netherrealm quests as quickly as possible results in you becoming under leveled for the required zones to progress further, stay within 3 levels of the zones you're completing to avoid a harsh experience penalty. Check out our How to Progress the Netherrealm if you're unsure of anything.

Here's a list of things to do while progressing the early stages of the Netherrealm;

  • Level 60, The Trade House is unlocked. Be sure to read and understand our Trade House for Beginners Guide before making any big purchases.
  • Higher item levels of gear come with higher quantities of Energy. Look to improve your current gear with items that have increased Energy so that you can use more Support Skills.
  • Utilize Prototype Crafting and Enchanting to greatly increase the power of non-Legendary gear you come across. It costs very low amounts of Flame Dust and Flame Sand to lock 1-2 good affixes in place and reroll up to 4-5 new modifiers.
