Gear & Gameplay

Learn about the Gameplay & Gear Progression for the Seething Rehan Berserking Blade Build.

Gear Setup

The equipment shown is core to the build. Great care must be placed to make sure all defensive/offensive thresholds are met in order for the build to operate at its best. If you wish to learn about how to craft your own gear like this please refer to our crafting guides.

This is an Endgame build, and all Legendary items used are essential unless stated otherwise in the following embed.

Check the auction house for any of the Rare items shown to see if there are any that would be cheaper in purchased instead of crafted.

Weapon Type: Circular Killing

Rarity: Legendary

Desired Stats:

  • Circular Killing is essential for the build and grants much more damage than a 2 handed crafted sword.
  • It grants fervor an additional base effect; "+2% Multistrike Chance for every point of Fervor Rating". This effect is also scaled by Fervor effect meaning that every 50% Fervor Effect grants an additional Multistrike.
  • Each Multistrike generates as much Rage as a standard Attack but gains increased attack speed; allowing you to fluctuate between 100 and 0 Rage as often as possible.
  • This weapon also grants you Meditate which causes you to take reduced damage and also grants additional damage for each Multistrike Attack.

Base Type: Fool's Crown

Rarity: Legendary

Desired Stats:

  • Adds a huge amount of Flat Physical damage to your Main Hand Weapon.
  • The damage granted is then scaled by the +200% gear Physical Damage present on the weapon.
  • The Physical damage is also converted to Fire making it a great choice for the build.
<mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-light-gray-color">Armor</mark>

Base Type: Fallen Knight's Armor

Rarity: 6-Mod Rare

Desired Stats:

  1. Acquire an Item Level 85+ Fallen Knight's Armor.
  2. Craft Elemental and Erosion Resistance with Tenacity Embers. It is very important to get high tier affixes as this build uses a lot of Legendary items, making it difficult to reach the Resistance Cap.
  3. Craft +Life with Vigor Embers. Tier 3 is the minimum you should accept as it provides a large amount of Life and is also the most common roll.
  4. Craft any Prefix.
  5. Use Ruling Embers until you replace the Prefix crafted in Step 3 with %Maximum Life. Continue to use Ruling Embers until you hit a roll you are happy with.
  6. Craft "Own 1 additional stacks of Tenacity Blessing" with Technique Ember.
  7. Craft any prefix using an Acute Fossil.
  8. Craft "+2 Active Skill Level" with Ominous Embers. You are aiming to remove the Prefix crafted in step 7. If you replace that modifier with ANY ominous modifier, confirm the craft. This is important as the new Ominous Ember modifier will be replaced with any subsequent Ominous modifier. Continue to Ominous Ember until you hit "+2 Active Skill Level".
<mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-light-gray-color">Gloves</mark>

Base Type: Varagon Shroud

Rarity: Legendary

Desired Stats:

  • Grants Steep Strike and Multistrike chance for each Tenacity Blessing.
  • It is crucial to reach 10 maximum Tenacity Blessings to gain the additional 10% Critical Strike Attack Rating and Attack Speed.
  • Look for a pair with the corroded implicit modifier "Max Tenacity Blessing Stacks +1", this is not essential to reach the 10 stacks needed; but it's still useful since each additional Tenacity Blessing grants a large amount of damage and speed.

Base Type: Old King's Sabatons

Rarity: 6 Mod Rare

Desired Stats:

  1. Acquire an Item Level 85+ pair of Old King's Sabatons (Use Divine Arbiter's Feet if these are too expensive)
  2. Craft Erosion Resistance and 2 other high tier Elemental Resistances using Tenacity Ember.
  3. Craft any Prefix.
  4. Use Ruling Embers until you remove the Prefix added in step 3 with either Tier 1 "Physical Damage added as Fire Damage" or "+1 Fire Skill Level" (Fire Skill Level is optional; it is only a damage increase for Flame Slash if you are killing bosses)
  5. Craft whichever Prefix you didn't add in step 4. (If you don't want to boss; replace "+1 Fire Skill Level" with Life Regeneration)
  6. Craft +Life using Vigor Embers and an Acute Fossil.
<mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-light-gray-color">Amulet</mark>

Base Type: Guttural of the Drowned

Rarity: Legendary

Desired Stats:

  • This item adds a huge amount of survivability to the build; granting a "cheat death" on an 8 seconds cooldown whenever you take fatal damage from a Severe Injury. Which for this build is literally any hit.
  • It is essential to get the item with corroded modifier "Any damage taken at Low Life is considered a Severe Injury; Non-Full Life state will be considered as Low Life" .
  • The Low Life state granted by the item also gives you a 100% uptime on No Lose Ends, granting an additional 35% damage.
  • The modifier "Restores 10% of Missing Life when you suffer a Severe Injury" combines with the Medium Talent from Bloodstriker; resulting in 45% of your life being restored every time you take a hit.

Desired Stats:

  • Look for a Chaotic Ending with the following modifiers;
    • +1 Maximum Tenacity Blessings
    • +10% Melee Damage per stack of Tenacity Blessing
    • +50% Fervor Effect
<mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-light-gray-color"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-light-gray-color">Right Ring</mark></mark>

  2. Craft Erosion Resistance and 2 other high tier Elemental Resistances using Tenacity Ember.
  3. Craft Melee Damage% using Amplified Ember.
  4. Craft Life using Vigor Ember.
  5. Craft any prefix using an Acute Fossil.
  6. Craft "+20% Max Life; +10% Defense" using Ominous Ember. You are aiming to remove the Prefix crafted in step 5. If you replace that modifier with ANY ominous modifier, confirm the craft. This is important as the new Ominous Ember modifier will replace any subsequent Ominous modifier. Continue to Ominous Ember until you hit "+20% Max Life; +10% Defense".
<mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-light-gray-color"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-light-gray-color">Belt</mark></mark>

Base Type: Infinity

Rarity: Legendary

Desired Stats:

  • There are many powerful major talents granted by an Infinity for this build.
    • Formless doubles the effect of your Warcries.
    • Fueling; take Great Strength in God of Might if you select this option.
    • Great Strength
    • Rushed
  • "Warcry is cast immediately; +1 Warcry Skill Charge Limit" adds a huge amount of quality of life; you are able to cast your Warcries without stopping in place.
  • For the remaining modifiers look for the following stats;
    • Fervor Effect
    • Elemental Resistance / Erosion Resistance
    • Life
    • +1 Maximum Tenacity Blessing

Gameplay & Build Info

  • Build up to maximum Fervor and Tenacity stacks as quickly as possible by attacking enemies to gain huge boosts to Attack Speed and Critical Strike Rating.
  • Leap Attack can be used as your only clear skill as it generates 100 Rage very quickly; upon reaching 100 Rage the Seething Spirit is summoned and attacks with your Main Skill. If any of the hits deal double damage the Seething Spirit then performs a second attack due to Growing Anger.
  • Constantly building and reducing your Rage bypasses the summon interval of the Seething Spirit meaning it performs attacks much faster.
  • Against single targets, spam your Berserking Blade to build and reduce your Rage even faster resulting in much more damage.
  • Swap to Flame Slash for boss encounters and attack the enemy from as close as possible to ensure that all of your Flame Slash Steep Strikes overlap and you are gaining the most value from Focused Strike.

Build Scaling

<mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-light-gray-color">Offense</mark>

Tenacity Blessings are the main method of scaling the build; Sacrifice converts the effect from Damage Reduction to "+8% Additional Attack Speed, +8% Skill Radius". This drastically lowers your defense but gives a massive amount of speed and skill radius, substantially increasing your clear speed. Varagon Shroud grants Steep Strike and Multistrike Chance per Tenacity Blessings; further increasing their value.

To activate your Varagon Shroud and gain 10% additional Attack Speed and Skill Radius it is important to have 10 stacks of Tenacity Blessings. They come from the following sources:

  • Base (4)
  • Tenacity (1)
  • Rock (2)
  • Medium Talent (1)
  • Varagon Shroud (1)
  • Chaotic Ending (1)

Fueling causes you to ignore the enemy Fire Resistance, this applies even if the enemy resistance is below 0 meaning Elemental Penetration is a useless stat for this build. For Fueling to be effective, all of the Physical Damage dealt by Berserking Blade and Explode is converted to Fire Damage. This is achieved with Medium Talent from the God of Might skill tree and Medium Talent from Warlord.

Circular Killing adds a base effect to Fervor Rating; "+2% Multistrike Chance for every point of Fervor Rating". This makes Fervor Effect a great way to scale your damage as it grants additional Multistrikes, causing you to generate 100 Rage faster and summon your Seething Spirit.

Multistrike chance grants a chance for you to perform an additional attack which consequently generates additional Rage. For every 100% Multistrike chance there is a guaranteed extra attack; whilst anything lower grants a chance to perform an additional attack.

<mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-light-gray-color">Defense</mark>

This build exchanges the defensiveness of Tenacity Blessings to gain additional Attack Speed and Skill Radius with Sacrifice. This makes the build much less durable; to mitigate this it is important to have as many T1 Life modifiers on your crafted pieces of gear as possible.

Guttural of the Drowned prevents Severe Injuries dealing fatal damage. The corroded modifier "Any damage taken at Low Life is considered a Severe Injury; Non-Full Life state will be considered as Low Life" means that any damage you take is considered a Severe Injury. This is a very strong way of mitigating large attacks but is on an 8 second cooldown.

Medium Talent and Guttural of the Drowned combine, causing you to recover 45% of missing life whenever you get hit. This makes you almost immortal against frequent small hits.

Mistakes to Avoid

1. Future Burnt Offering

Do not equip Future Burnt Offering in your 5th Engram Slot. Doing so causes you to be Disarmed during Berserk which massively reduces your damage.

2. Circular Killing

Circular Killing has many powerful corrosions; but it is very important to avoid the modifier "+300% Multistrike chance for every 100 Fervor Rating". This is essentially the same as having 50% Fervor Effect but removes the ability to scale your Multistrike Chance with further instances of Fervor Effect.

3. Fueling

Fueling causes you to ignore the enemy Fire resistance even if the value is lower than 0. Do not take any instances of Elemental Penetration; it has no effect on your damage.
