High Court Chariot Rosa Leveling Guide

Frozen Canvas

Last Updated:October 25, 2024|Changelog

Welcome to the Rosa, High Court Chariot Leveling Guide. Rosa is an irreverent Paladin, who would rather destroy Torchlight's foes than kiss the feet of Keegan's adherents. Rosa's High Court Chariot is highly mobile. Wielding a shield in one hand and whatever else she damn well pleases in the other Rosa dominates the battlefield. Blocking foes builds up Murderous Intent which she unleashes to create a Holy Domain, pulling enemies in for a nice shield bash to the face!

Frozen Canvas Updates

The leveling guide is intended to take your character to Timemark 7.
You can respec your character for free until Level 90.

Be sure to check the final section of the guide for recommendations on how to transition into the Endgame!

Treasure Troves

Treasure Troves are a way to super-charge your leveling experience. They give vastly more experience than regular zones and yield exclusive Legendary items. You need to complete each of them once for a Talent Point. For an easier leveling experience, you repeat the Treasure Trove until you're 8-10 levels above the zone, then rush through the next few areas. Follow your side quest to find the Treasure Trove locations.

Keep an eye out for the following Legendary items as you clear Treasure Troves.

  • New Ear Hills (L7): Look out for Pentagram Astrolabe, Lonesome, and Rock Lizard's Skull. These items can drop in all troves and offer a significant boost to your levelling.
  • Nectar Valley (L16): Look out for Born in Fire.
  • Dawn Avenue (L27): Look out for Reverse-Reverse-Reverse Mirror, Boor's Iron Crown.
  • Sanctuary of Solitude (L35): There are no new Legendaries worth farming appear in this Trove.
  • Silver Sands' End (L44): Look out for Steel's Lament and Boor's Iron Crown.
  • Hall of Grandiosity (L54): Look out for Furious Man's Body.

Leveling Tips and Tricks

  • Your first active skill slot (top left in the Skills menu) is your "Main Skill," this matters because many items and Hero Traits have effects that only apply to the Main Skill.
  • If you're ever in doubt of where to go, click the campaign quest on the left of your screen and a golden path shows you the way.
  • This guide assumes you get most of your levels through Treasure Troves and rush to the objectives in other zones for maximum efficiency.
  • When allocating Pact Points, prioritize Elemental Resistance first, then select Damage nodes until you fill the section. If you have leftover points, put them into Drop nodes as you begin farming the Netherrealm.
  • Claim your rewards from the Path of Progression to gain additional Talent Points whilst levelling.
  • All support gems become available from the Skill Shop at level 55. At this stage cross reference with the embeds to make sure you're set up for the Netherrealm.
  • In Chapter 3 gear you find comes with varying amounts of Energy, after changing your gear, be sure to go to the Energy Menu under Skills to reassign missing Energy.

Equipment & Stat Priorities

Main stats to be looking for while progressing the campaign

Look for these Offensive stats on weapons:

  • Gear Physical Damage
  • Physical Damage added to Attacks
  • Erosion Damage added to Attacks
  • Critical Strike Chance
  • Critical Strike Damage
  • Block Chance
  • Strength

Look for these Defensive stats on armor:

  • Max Life %
  • Armor

Core Skill

  • High Court Chariot; Use your Hero Trait to group together large packs of enemies and then nuke them down with a Groundshaker. All of your additional Damage from Hero Traits relies on you being inside the Holy Domain.
  • Groundshaker is a demolisher skill dealing a massive aftershock of damage when you consume a Demolisher Charge. Use your Holy Illumination to collect all enemies and then Groundshaker to one shot them all.
  • Use Compound Source to quickly regenerate Life and Mana whenever needed.
  • Activate Bull's Rage to gain a massive boost to Melee Skill Damage and Radius.
  • Use Vulnerability on Rare Monsters and Bosses until you unlock Terrain of Malice, then use it on cooldown.
  • The mobility skill to use is determined by which base type of weapon you are using. If you find a really good Axe, use Leap Attack. If you find a really good sword, use Spiral Strike.

Talents

Rosa Leveling Talent Tree

God of War

This tree focuses on Physical Damage, granting a large amount of percentage Physical Damage and +1 Level to Physical Skills. It also grant some Block Chance you allocate later into the leveling process. Brutality prevents you from dealing Elemental damage so avoid weapons with added Fire/Cold/Lightning Damage.

Ronin

Ronin grants additional bonuses Block as well as a small amount of Demolisher Restoration Speed. Sprinkle is the best option for damage for your first Major Talent. With enough damage and Block Chance, Defensiveness becomes the better choice. Make sure to have more Strength than Dexterity after you select the Tradeoff.

The Brave

This Tree provides bonuses to dual-wielding as well as buffs to warcries. Legendary Medium Talent provides Raging Warcry with the max benefit regardless of how many enemies are present. Formless then removes the cast time for the War Cry.

Dual Wielding is more offensive than using a shield, but does grant additional Attack Block Chance, making it easier to reach cap. Due to how much flat you can get on One Handed Weapons compared to Two Handed Weapons, Joined Force is a very strong option for your first Major Talent.

There are tons of different Talent Trees to explore, if you want to learn more about this robust system check out our Talent Tree Guide.

Traits and Memories

Hero Traits

How To Unlock Traits

To Unlock your Traits you must reach the corresponding level and then place a Hero Memory in the available socket. The first 2 Memories are guaranteed to drop from the following Stage Bosses;

  • Level 47 - King Lionheart - Lions Pass
  • Level 57 - Ordrek - Rusted Abyss
Rosa Leveling Hero Traits, Relics & Memories

Level 45: Unbreakable Stand grants additional damage for each Enemy inside the Holy Domain.

Level 60: Desperation grants Attack, Cast Speed and additional Damage Dealt to all enemies within your Holy Domain. Switch to Precise Steamroll for a significant damage boost.

Level 90: Seize Momentum gives you access to Brave Advance which further scales damage dealt to enemies within the Holy Domain but also causes you to take additional damage.

To learn more, check out our Hero Memory Guide.

Divinity Slates

Slate Talents are a huge source of power, also providing access to Utility Legendary Talent Nodes that your chosen Talent Tree's do not provide. Divinity Slates can be farmed from many different forms of content, but primarily drop from the Cube of Rapacity. Look to brand Divinity Slates with the following nodes;

Micro and Medium TalentsLegendary Talents
Attack SpeedDemolisher Restoration speed
Maximum LifeAdditional Dmage to enemies in proximity
Critical Strike Rating+1 Physical Skill Level
Critical Strike Damage+1 All Skill Levels
StrengthStrength per Level

Pacts

The Netherrealm

Racing through your Netherrealm quests as quickly as possible results in you becoming under leveled for the required zones to progress further, stay within 3 levels of the zones you're completing to avoid a harsh experience penalty. Check out our How to Progress the Netherrealm if you're unsure of anything.

Here's a list of things to do while progressing the early stages of the Netherrealm;

  • Level 60: the Trade House is unlocked. Be sure to read and understand our Trade House for Beginners Guide before making any big purchases.
  • Higher item levels of gear come with higher quantities of Energy. Look to improve your current gear with items that have increased Energy so that you can use more Support Skills.
  • Utilize Crafting to greatly increase the power of gear you come across. It costs very low amounts of Flame Sand and Fine Embers to significantly improve your gear.

Transitioning to Endgame

To take this build up to Timemark 7 and beyond so you can begin farming for an endgame setup, make sure to craft gear using any Fine Embers you can find. This is an Ember that can only be used on Gear with an item level lower than 76.

Weapon

  • Prefixes:
    • Gear Physical Damage
    • Physical Damage added to Attacks
    • Strength / Dexterity
  • Suffixes:
    • Gear Critical Strike Chance
    • Critical Strike Damage
    • Gear Attack Speed (Note this does not always increase dps, but does add quality of life).

Noble and Magnificent Supports

Noble and Magnificent Support are the reward for completely the new Frozen Canvas Seasonal Mechanic. They provide a massive amount of character power when combined with associated skills.

  • Groundshaker: Epicenter (Magnificent) is a large multiplier that synergises well with Rosa's Hero Trait, pulling enemies into the centre of Groundshaker for even more damage.
  • Groundshaker: Frequent Quake (Magnificent) causes the fissure created by Groundshaker to persist for 1.5 seconds after forming. Every 0.4 seconds the fissure damage pulses until the end of it's duration. This along side a massive 70% additional Damage Multiplier is the best option for boss content.
  • Groundshaker: Wrathful Vault (Noble) transforms Groundshaker into a mobility skill, leap to a targeted area and unleashing the normal attack and fissures. A great option for higher clear speed.
  • Groundshaker: Collapse (Noble) has good synergy with Groundshaker: Frequent Quake (Magnificent) by extending the duration of all fissures.

Remaining Gear

Focus on crafting the remainder of your Armor and Jewelry with the following goals in mind;

  • Cap all of your Resistances at the 60% maximum.
  • Have a healthy Life pool.
    • Scale Armor for additional defenses.
  • Demolisher Charge Modifiers
  • Increase your Melee or Physical damage.
  • Critical Strike Rating, or Damage.
  • Attack Speed (Note this does not always increase dps, but does add quality of life).

Legendary Items

Leveling

  • Omniscient Prototype grants a large amount of Energy but no stats.
  • Dragon Scale Warshield makes you a lot tankier over the duration of a zone.
  • Shield of Judgment a low level shield that helps you take down enemies during the campaign.
  • Lonesome is a great ring for the early game, but you have to replace Brutality with Determined.

Endgame

  • Ralph's Engraving grants easy access to Fervor rating.
  • Praise for Injury provides explosions for clear speed.
  • Vortex Heart gives a significant boost to damage if you drop your AoE directly on enemies.
  • Furious Man's Loud Song grants up to a massive 75% additional damage as well as some much needed Demolisher Restoration Speed.
  • Steel Stagnation is an incredible Off Hand Weapon for this build, the lack of Attack Speed won't effect you due to Joined Force. It sets your Demolisher Restoration Speed to 150% until you manage to get a corroded version.
  • Hekate's Vision is a good all purpose helmet that provides additional damage, defence and extends the duration of your curses.
