The Thunder Wastes Watcher is one of the five "Watchers of the Netherrealm". You must defeat any combination of these Watchers 4 times to challenge the Traveler, one of the pinnacle bosses. The Watchers of the Netherrealm are harder than typical Beacon Bosses. The difficulty of the Watcher is based on which Timemark (1-8) you are attempting.

In order to fight the Thunder Wastes Watcher, you have to generate enough Stage Attention. The required amount varies based on your chosen Timemark Level, ranging from 4-10.

Watchers have specific loot tables. Chaos Invasion Card Inheritance does not affect the Watcher's fight or loot table in any way.

Skills Breakdown

The Thunder Wastes Watcher performs 3 consecutive dashes in a triangle formation, the second and third dash leave behind a small Clone. The Watcher then fires a spread of 3 Lightning Shuriken projectiles at you. Dashes deal significant damage on contact, avoid them with perpetual movement away from the Watcher. Lightning Shurikens deal low damage.

Thunder Waste Watcher Mechanics

The Thunder Wastes Watcher appears in the center of the Arena. This Watcher's abilities revolve around area denial and high damage attacks from multiple fronts. Pay special attention to the ground, many of this Watcher's most lethal abilities are telegraphed. It is highly recommended to have maxed out Fire, Cold and Lightning Resistance. The fight itself is split into 2 major Phases: The Boss Phase and Thunderous Annihilation, each repeating multiple times.

Boss Phase 1

The Thunder Waste Watcher always begin the fight using his Triangle Dash ability, be mindful of this to avoid an early death. In phase 1 the Watcher rotates through his standard abilities: Triangle Dash, Leap Attack, Thunder Storm, Dash Attack, Frontal Slam, and Teleport Clone Slash. In Timemark 8, he also uses his Lightning Hot Spot and Lightning Blast abilities. This phase ends when the Watcher reaches 75% HP and uses his first Thunderous Annihilation.

Note: Having trouble with Thunderous Annihilation? If you kill the boss quickly, you won't need to deal with it.

Thunderous Annihilation 1

After reaching 75% health, the Thunder Wastes Watcher uses Thunderous Annihilation. After disappearing, intangible clones begin appearing at the Arena's border. These Clones rapidly create delayed Laser blasts targeting your current position. Lasers are telegraphed by a Blue Line, which quickly becomes a Red Line. After a short delay the Laser fires, dealing massive damage on contact. Avoid certain death by navigating through Blue Lines and avoiding Red Lines. This attack repeats once after all Clones have fired their Lasers.

Boss Phase 2

After using Thunderous Annihilation for the first time, the Thunder Wastes Watcher returns to the arena. The Watcher rotates through his standard abilities, and can now also use his Clone Crescent, Clone Army, and Thunderous Annihilation 1 abilities. This phase ends when the Watcher reaches 50% HP and uses Thunderous Annihilation 2

Thunderous Annihilation 2

After reaching 50% health, the Thunder Wastes Watcher uses an enhanced version of Thunderous Annihilation. After disappearing, intangible clones begin appearing at the Arena's border. These Clones rapidly create Laser blasts with shorter delays targeting your current position. Lasers are telegraphed by a Blue Line, which quickly becomes a Red Line. After a short delay the Laser fires, dealing massive damage on contact. Avoid certain death by navigating through Blue Lines and avoiding Red Lines. This repeats 5 times after all Clones have fired their Lasers. After the second barrage of Lasers the Watcher uses his Lightning Pillars attack, here they can be destroyed by damaging them, do so to ensure your survival.

Boss Phase 3

After using After using Thunderous Annihilation 2 for the first time, the Thunder Wastes Watcher returns to the arena. This phase is the same as Boss Phase 2, except now the Watcher uses Thunderous Annihilation 2 instead of the weaker version.
