The Final Shape

Fireteam Finder and Social Spaces are now a huge part of this game. While the majority of the game can be played solo, Destiny 2 is meant to be a social gaming experience. Social spaces are great places to talk to vendors and store gear, while Fireteam Finder is a solid place to find the fireteam you are looking for.

Fireteam Finder

In Destiny 2, the Fireteam Finder is a new feature that allows players to quickly find and join fireteams for various in-game activities. This is a particularly useful tool for challenges that require teamwork and coordination, allowing Guardians to connect with others seeking to conquer the same content.

Creating a Listing

  • Navigate to your Friends List where you see nearby Guardians, friends, and your clan. Select the Fireteam Finder.
  • Select "Create a Listing".
  • Choose the activity type.
  • Pick the activity you wish to complete.
  • Fill out all Listing Settings. This helps other players understand what you are looking to get out of the fireteam.
    • For example, you can put tags that specify you need someone to show you the ropes, you have limited time, or that you are unable to be in voice chat.
  • Create your Listing.
  • Once the Fireteam is full, launch the activity!

Joining a Listing

  • Navigate to your Friends List where you see nearby Guardians, friends, and your clan. Select the Fireteam Finder.
  • Select "Search for a Listing".
  • Choose the activity type.
  • Pick the activity you wish to complete.
  • Scroll through the listings to find one that best suits your needs.
    • Some listings require the fireteam leader to approve members before they join. When this happens, the listing says "Application Pending" after you select it.
  • Once on a fireteam, the leader launches the activity after the team is filled.

Social Spaces

Social spaces in Destiny 2 are a great place to unload your weapons, resupply your consumables, and check your Postmaster. They are non-combat zones that have various vendors and terminals for players to do any number of non-combat related things.

The Tower

This social space is a great spot to check your Postmaster, unload your Guardian by storing things in your vault, or even purchase gear and weapons from the various vendors. The Eververse Store is also in the Tower; this is where players can purchase unique cosmetics for exotic weapons and gear.

The H.E.L.M.

This social space is where players can find seasonal vendors and activities. Seasonal vendors in the H.E.L.M. take many forms, including terminals, war tables, sonar stations, map tables, and so much more. The current seasonal Vendor is F.A.I.L.S.A.F.E., our AI friend from Nessus. She has bounties, rewards, and quests for players to complete.

The Enclave

This social space is quite unique. There is a terminal for your Postmaster, your Vault, and the Relic (where you shape your crafted weapons). Past the Relic, deeper into the chamber, there is an open patio with small, button-shaped targets hanging mid-air. This is a shooting range to test the weapons that you have crafted. This is great to utilize in a fireteam to compare damage numbers and test range.

Summary

Fireteam Finder and Social Spaces in Destiny 2 are a big part of any player's experience. The Tower, the H.E.L.M. and the Enclave are appreciable spaces where fireteams can interact with vendors, download their gear, and craft new weapons to play with to their heart's content. Fireteam Finder is exceptional at linking lone Guardians looking for a team to complete any activity. Destiny was meant to be played in fireteams, just as we are meant to tackle the forces of Darkness - together.
