Haedrig's Gift GR20 Guide

Introduction

The Haedrig's Gift is a fast track to getting your first full 6-piece set during the start of a season. Completing Chapters 2 through 4 of the Season Journey rewards you with one bag containing two set items for your class. The first chapters are very easy, but in Chapter 4 you are required to complete a Greater Rift 20 solo in order to unlock the last pieces, which will give you a huge boost to your progression and clear speed. This overview will help to you get started as fast as possible.

All of the sets for Season 22 are great rewards, as we get the latest sets introduced to the game for each class, which are generally quite strong and used for their best builds. Luckily GR20 is easy to complete even without a full build and this time around we also get the Shadow Clones to help us out, which will make the run a breeze as long as you manage to spawn a pylon. These proposed setups use the minimum requirements to clear GR20, which is usually just 4 pieces of the set and random yellow items. In some cases a single legendary item (which you will almost certainly have at that point, taken from those you should gamble at level 1) was added to make the setup stronger because the first bonuses of some sets don't provide enough power for easy completion.

Only Crusaders and Demon Hunters get strong bonuses without item synergies from their (2) and (4) Set Bonuses. Instead of trying hard to use your half-completed set on the other classes, you could also go for Legacy of Dreams, level it up a few times and equip any random legendary items you can find, making it even easier to complete GR20 with just about anything you choose. Check below to find out more about the suggested setups.

GR20 Setups

Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages

GR20 Run
Unfortunately, Barbarians don't get much out of their set before they complete it. If you have any legendary item with a big multiplier already, you should use it and play around that. The easiest examples are Bracers of Destruction and Bracers of the First Men, buffing Seismic Slam and Hammer of the Ancients, respectively, and which are typical level 1 gambling choices.

Full Set
After you complete the full Horde of the Ninety Savages set, try to acquire the remaining key items for the build. These should easily carry you into Torment XVI and beyond:

  • Bastion's Revered
  • Oathkeeper
  • The Undisputed Champion
  • Depth Diggers

Crusader - Aegis of Valor

GR20 Run
Crusaders have an 800% damage multiplier to Heaven's Fury from the Aegis of Valor (2) Bonus already, making this a fairly easy win. Use the Fires of Heaven rune and blast down your enemies!

Full Set
After you complete the full Aegis of Valor set, try to acquire the remaining key items for the build. These should easily carry you into Torment XVI and beyond:

  • Flail of the Charge
  • Shield of the Steed

For Heaven's Fury:

  • Fate of the Fell
  • Shield of Fury
  • Bracer of Fury

For Fist of the Heavens:

  • Darklight
  • Khassett's Cord of Righteousness

Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands

GR20 Run
Demon Hunters have it very easy in Season 22. The build plays just like the regular full GoD set without any of the supporting items involved and they get two damage multipliers from the Gears of Dreadlands (2) and (4) Bonuses. If you don't have any other supporting items yet, Bolas Imminent Doom is the way to go. Just stack up Momentum to 20 and keep it high by casting your Bolas, then Strafe to mow down your enemies.

Full Set
After you complete the full Gears of Dreadlands set, try to acquire the remaining key items for the build. These should easily carry you into Torment XVI and beyond:

  • The Ninth Cirri Satchel
  • Hunter's Wrath
  • Depth Diggers
  • Dawn

Monk - Patterns of Justice

GR20 Run
For Monks, the Patterns of Justice (2) and (4) Bonuses don't do very much on their own, so having a damage multiplier from another source is really helpful. As you typically gamble bracers at level 1, you will most likely have at least one of Cesar's Memento, Pinto's Pride or Gungdo Gear to choose from. Anything works, so play around what you got and include either Wave of Light or Exploding Palm in your setup. Tempest Rush Flurry can still be used for a bit of damage and resource generation.

Full Set
After you complete the full Patterns of Justice set, try to acquire the remaining key items for the build. These should easily carry you into Torment XVI and beyond:

  • Cesar's Memento
  • Won Khim Lau
  • Balance

Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival

GR20 Run
Despite being the best build of the season, the Masquerade of the Burning Carnival (2) and (4) Bonuses don't really do anything. It's much better to skip it until you have at least Haunted Visions, as otherwise all of the set's bonuses are pretty meaningless. The easiest way to do it is to simply use whatever weapon you cubed at level 1 and play around that. If all else fails, just go for a Skeletal Mage Singularity setup with a lot of resource recovery instead. It will be much easier if you manage to acquire Legacy of Dreams along with any random legendary items before and level it up a few times, but it's not required.

Full Set
After you complete the full Masquerade of the Burning Carnival set, try to acquire the remaining key items for the build. These should easily carry you into Torment XVI and beyond:

  • Haunted Visions
  • Maltorius' Petrified Spike
  • Scythe of the Cycle
  • Reilena's Shadowhook
  • Gelmindor's Marrow Guards

Witch Doctor - Mundunugu's Regalia

GR20 Run
For Witch Doctors it's a cakewalk thanks to Gazing Demise, which you should very likely have already from gambling at level 1. Just take Spirit Barrage Manitou and blast! It will be very easy as the Manitou targets enemies by itself. If you can't get the offhand at all, it can be a bit tricky, but it should still work just fine using the Phantasm rune or playing with Haunt, Locust Swarm and Gargantuan.

Full Set
After you complete the full Mundunugu's Regalia set, try to acquire the remaining key items for the build. These should easily carry you into Torment XVI and beyond:

  • The Barber
  • Sacred Harvester
  • Lakumba's Ornament

Wizard - The Typhon's Veil

GR20 Run
For Wizards, The Typhon's Veil (2) and (4) Bonuses are not really helpful here, but can be used for extra damage reduction if needed. If you lack any good multipliers, just take Arcane Orb Frozen Orb and blast. It's strong enough to carry you without anything, but you could also wait until you acquire Legacy of Dreams along with some random legendary items to get a nice boost.

Full Set
After you complete the full The Typhon's Veil set, try to acquire the remaining key items for the build. These should easily carry you into Torment XVI and beyond:

  • Serpent's Sparker
  • The Magistrate
  • Fragment of Destiny
  • Winter Flurry
