Ethereal Knives Ignite Elementalist Endgame Gear Progression, Budget Items, Jewels & Crafting.

Core Items

The equipment shown is from Patch 3.19 Kalandra League. Great care must be placed to make sure all defensive thresholds are met in order for the build to operate at its best. Main Hand

Weapon Type: Bow
Rarity: Rare

In the endgame version of this build, we want to use a Bow, providing us with a second 6-Link Setup and a Quiver as a stat stick. To reach godlike levels of clear, we are looking for a synthesized Bow with the implicit Enemies you kill have a 25% chance to explode, dealing a tenth of their maximum Life as Physical Damage. We want to craft our Bow with Deafening Essence of Misery. Since Bows with explode mod are used in a variety of endgame build, these can become very pricy. As a very cheap alternitive, you can use Obliteration with a Shield, to help out with additional stats and Spell Suppression.

Stats to look out for:

  • +1 to Level of Socketed Gems
  • +#% to Damage over Time Multiplier

Multimod with:

  • +2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems
  • Gain (14-16)% of Fire Damage as Extra Chaos Damage

Off-Hand

Quiver Base: Feathered Arrow Quiver
Rarity: Rare

Our Quiver acts as a stat stick and can be used to fill up missing stats like resistances or other useful mods. To further increase our damage, we add Physical Damage as Extra Damage modifiers to it. This can be achieved by using an Awakener's Orb to combine the Redeemer Gain #% of Physical Damage as Extra Cold Damage with the Warlord's Gain #% of Physical Damage as Extra Fire Damage or to spam Essence of Hysteria on a Redeemer influenced Feathered Arrow Quiver until you hit Gain #% of Physical Damage as Extra Cold Damage.

Stats to look out for:

  • Gain #% of Physical Damage as Extra Cold Damage
  • Gain #% of Physical Damage as Extra Fire Damage
  • +# to maximum Life
  • Resistances (Elemental, Chaos)
  • useful mods like % chance to gain Onslaught for 4 seconds on Kill

Helmet

Base Type: Evasion / Energy Shield
Rarity: Rare

Our Helmet of choice is an Evasion / Energy Shield base to be able to roll Spell Suppression on it, since this modifier is exclusive to Evasion bases. Since we are playing with Mind Over Matter and Eldritch Battery, we want to stack Energy Shield for both, survivability and spender resource. We craft this Helmet with Deafening Essence of Loathing for the modifier (9-10)% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills.

Eldritch Implicits:

  • % increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills - Eater of Worlds Influence
  • % increased Flammability Curse Effect - Searing Exarch Influence

Stats to look out for:

  • +#% chance to Suppress Spell Damage

Body Armour

Name: Skin of the Loyal
Rarity: Unique

This Body Armour doesn't look all that crazy at the first glance, but the Modifier 100% increased Global Defences has crazy scaling in our build. Global Defences are Armour, Evasion and Energy Shield. We scale our Armour with Flasks and Determination, Evasion with Flasks, gear and Grace and Energy Shield with gear and Discipline, providing us with the trifecta defence boost.

Gloves

Base Type: Evasion / Energy Shield
Rarity: Rare

Gloves should be crafted on an Evasion / Energy Shield base to be able to roll Spell Suppression on it, since this modifier is exclusive to Evasion bases. Since we are playing with Mind Over Matter and Eldritch Battery, we want to stack Energy Shield for both, survivability and spender resource. % of Physical Damage Converted to Cold Damage is mandatory. This can be achieved in various ways: Crusader Influence, Veiled Modifier, Incursion Modifier, Bench craftable and Eater of Worlds Implicit.

Eldritch Implicits:

  • Inflict Fire Exposure on Hit, applying #% to Fire Resistance - Eater of Worlds Influence
  • +#% to Fire Damage over Time Multiplier - Searing Exarch Influence

Optional:

  • % of Physical Damage Converted to Cold Damage - Eater of Worlds Influence
  • Ignites you inflict spread to other Enemies within a Radius of # - Searing Exarch Influence

Stats to look out for:

  • +#% chance to Suppress Spell Damage
  • +# to maximum Life
  • Resistances (Elemental, Chaos)

Boots

Base Type: Evasion / Energy Shield
Rarity: Rare

Start crafting your Boots on an Evasion / Energy Shield base to be able to roll Spell Suppression on it, since this modifier is exclusive to Evasion bases. Since we are playing with Mind Over Matter and Eldritch Battery, we want to stack Energy Shield for both, survivability and spender resource. This is our main source of % chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments and can be crafted with Deafening Essence of Loathing.

Eldritch Implicits:

  • % chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments - Eater of Worlds Influence
  • Drops Scorched Ground while moving, lasting # seconds - Searing Exarch Influence

Stats to look out for:

Amulet

Name: Gloomfang
Rarity: Unique

What makes this Amulet the absolute best in slot is the interaction it has with Hydrosphere. Gloomfang provides us with Skills Chain +1 times and Projectiles that have Chained gain #% of Non-Chaos Damage as extra Chaos Damage. In order to get this damage boost, we need to ensure that our Ethereal Knives projectile chains at least once before it hits the target. Therefore, we spawn a Hydrosphere from our Arcanist Brand setup and chain the Ethereal Knives projectile off it.

Rings

Left Ring

Name: Polaric Devastation
Rarity: Unique

This unique Ring provides us with a bunch of Resistances, Increased Ailment Duration and most importantly, Cover Enemies in Ash for 5 seconds when you Ignite them, if you wear this ring in the left Ring slot. Cover in Ash is a debuff that lets the enemy take 20% increased Fire Damage, as well as slowing their Movement Speed by 20%.

Right Ring

Base Type: Optional
Rarity: Rare

We want to grab a Ring with the Curse Enemies with Flammability on Hit, with #% increased Effect modifier on it. This can be achieved by crafting on a Warlord influenced base, a synthesized ring implicit or as a fractured modifier. It is best crafted with an Essence of Delirium to gain its +(12-15)% to Damage over Time Multiplier modifier.

  • Resistances (Elemental, Chaos)

Belt

Base Type: Stygian Vise
Rarity: Rare

The Belt slot is variable, based on preference or how much currency you want to spend. Headhunter, Mageblood or a Rare Belt with Life, Resistance, Attributes or other useful mods like Regenerate # Energy Shield per second while a Rare or Unique Enemy is Nearby (unveil / craft).

Flasks

Flasks do also play an important role, since Granite Flask provides us with a massive boost to flat Armour and Jade Flask with Evasion. Taste of Hate is an offensive and defensive choice, converting incoming Physical Damage to Cold Damage, and giving us Physical Damage as extra Cold Damage.

  • % of Spell Damage Leeched as Energy Shield during Flask effect

Jewels

The Watcher's Eye can grant a boost to both your defences and offences. Since we use many defensive, and multiple offensive Auras, there is a wide range of mods we can look for on it.

Core Mod:

  • (25-40)% of Physical Damage Converted to Cold Damage while affected by Hatred

Useful Mods:

  • +(600-1000) to Armour while affected by Determination
  • (5-8)% additional Physical Damage Reduction while affected by Determination
  • You take (60-40)% reduced Extra Damage from Critical Strikes while affected by Determination
  • +(5-8)% chance to Evade Attack Hits while affected by Grace
  • +(12-15)% chance to Suppress Spell Damage while affected by Grace
  • (10-15)% increased Movement Speed while affected by Grace
  • (30-50)% increased Cooldown Recovery Rate of Movement Skills used while affected by Haste
  • You gain Onslaught for 4 seconds on Kill while affected by Haste
  • You have Phasing while affected by Haste
  • Adds (58-70) to (88-104) Cold Damage while affected by Hatred
  • (40-60)% increased Cold Damage while affected by Hatred
  • +(18-22)% to Damage over Time Multiplier while affected by Malevolence
  • (8-12)% increased Recovery rate of Life and Energy Shield while affected by Malevolence
  • Damaging Ailments you inflict deal Damage (10-15)% faster while affected by Malevolence

The Brutal Restraint is slotted at the Witch Jewel socket next to the Power Charge. Near this socket there is a good concentration of Passives the build already paths to for its damage and utility. This makes it the favorable location for it to be slotted. The Jewel grants additional powerful bonuses to Passives allocated within the radius of its ring. The bonuses we are looking for on these Passives are any combination of the following:

  • 8% increased effect of Non-Curse Auras from your Skills
  • 25% chance to gain Alchemist's Genius when you use a Flask
  • +20 to Dexterity
  • 5% increased Attack and Cast Speed
  • 4% increased maximum Life
  • +20% Cold Resistance
  • 5% increased Movement Speed
  • You gain Onslaught for 8 seconds on Kill
  • Gain 5% of Physical Damage as Extra Cold Damage

The Impossible Escape with the Keystone "Precise Technique" can be socketed in any free Jewel slot and is used to boost our Spell Suppression with allocating the entire Entrench Cluster. Thick Skin and Freedom of Movement are also decent choices nearby, as they provide Life, Ailment Avoidance and the much-needed Dexterity.

We are using 2 sets of Large Cluster Jewels and up to 4 Medium Cluster Jewels.

Rare Jewels can be used to fill up empty Jewel Slots and should have a combination of the following mods:

  • (16-20)% increased Burning Damage
  • (10-12)% increased Damage over Time
  • +(4-6)% to Damage over Time Multiplier
  • +(6-8)% to Fire Damage over Time Multiplier
  • (8-10)% increased Damage
  • +(8-10)% to all Elemental Resistances
  • +(7-13)% to Chaos Resistance
  • Damaging Ailments deal damage (4-6)% faster
