Milestones
Early Game
Mid Game
End Game
Early Game Goal
Your first goal will be capping Elemental Resistances and obtaining a decent enough Weapon with Attack Speed, so you can zoom.
Don't spend too much on your Helmet and a 5-linked Body Armor, as they will be upgraded later to Suppression gear.
Milestone 1 - Syndicate unveils
While doing Syndicate Missions, make sure to find Elreon, or remove other members from the Syndicate until he shows up. Unveil the following gear slots for these crafts specifically and all other unveils afterwards:
- Unveil Gloves and Amulets for x% increased Damage while Leeching
- Unveil Boots for the 20% increased Movement Speed / 10% chance to gain Onslaught for 4 seconds on Kill
- Unveil "Elreon's Veiled" Rings for Non-Channeling Skills have -(x-x) to Total Mana Cost
- Unveil "Korrel's Veiled Helmets for x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage
- Unveil "Gravicius" Veiled Body Armour for x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage and x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Lightning Damage
Milestone 2 - Flasks
Flasks are significant defensive upgrades and are our next pickup. The Flask bases are:
- Quicksilver Flask
- Granite Flask
- Basalt Flask
- Divine Life Flask
To craft your Flasks, use an Orb of Transmutation on White Flasks and then alternate between using Orb of Alteration and Orb of Augmentation until you hit the following mods on your Granite Flask and Basalt Flask
- Increased Attack Speed during Flask effect.
- Increased Armour during Flask effect.
- Reduced Effect of Curses on you during Flask effect.
- Increased Evasion Rating during Flask effect.
Roll for the following modifiers on your Divine Life Flask. Once you have this modifier, make sure to have captured at least 4 Yellow Beasts. Visit the Menagerie and craft the Sealing mod to give Corrupted Blood and Bleed Removal to your Life Flask.
- 50% of Recovery is Applied Instantly.
- Instant Recovery
- Instant Recovery while on Low Life
Use any Glassblower's Baubles you pick up on your Flasks until they reach 20% Quality. After picking up enough Instilling Orbs check the Crafting Bench and Craft the Enchant Used when Charges Reach Full on each of your Utility Flasks.
Milestone 3 - Axe upgrade
Upgrade your damage by acquiring an Axe with 3 or more damage modifiers, one of them being a crafted mod. Harvest Reforge Attack, Physical and Speed or Screaming Essence of Contempt on a Despot Axe base until you obtain 2 or more of the following modifiers:
- x% increased Physical Damage
- Adds x to x Physical Damage
- x% increased Attack Speed
If you get 2 of these mods, craft the last one. If you get all 3 mods, then craft hybrid Physical Damage or Double Damage.
Milestone 4 - Boots, Ring, Gloves, Amulet and Belt
For your Boots, Ring, Gloves, Amulet and Belt, you want Armor/Evasion hybrid bases to make coloring Sockets easier. Obtain or purchase a Stygian Vise Belt to craft on, or grab a Leather Belt and craft on that. This allows for an extra Abyss Jewel for damage/Stats/Resistance. Use a Turquoise Amulet base to help with Intelligence and Dexterity requirements.
Make sure there is an open Prefix to craft the "Onslaught on Kill + Movement Speed" Unveiled mod on your Boots. You also need an open Prefix on your Gloves and Amulet to craft x% increased Damage while Leeching. Get the following mods to fill your build out with as much Life and Resistances as possible through Harvest Reforging, or Essence spamming.
- 50+ to Maximum Life
- 35%+ to Fire/Lightning/Cold Resistance.
- 20%+ to Chaos Resistance
- 8% chance to Suppress Spell Damage
IMPORTANT - Get enough Resistances and stats on these few pieces so that you can use The Gull. You need to buy a 6-link Body Armour base later on, so don't rely on this slot for resistances for too long.
LAST IMPORTANT MESSAGE - If you obtain any gear with T2+ Accuracy rolls and anything else, hold onto these. You need to have more Accuracy than Life, so save any good pieces!
Milestone 6 - The Gull
The Gull is a Helmet that spawns Lesser Shrines on kill. Shrines are temporary buffs. Combine this Helmet with our Atlas Passive Tree that obtains additional Shrine buffs to increase your speed, damage and survivability.
If The Gull is too expensive, simply purchase a Helmet with Life and Resistances. Check the End Game gear set for an example helmet with Eldritch Influence.
Milestone 7 - 5-Link Body Armour
Obtain a 5-Linked Armour or Armour/Evasion hybrid Body Armour. Use a Screaming Essence of Greed on your Body Armour. You can craft a Resistance on this slot, but make sure your other slots can carry because you need a Suppression Body Armour later and won't be able to get too much Resistance there.
Milestone 8 - Watcher's Eye
This may be cheap upgrade, but if it's more than 25 Chaos Orbs then skip this Milestone until later. A Watcher's Eye with Chance To Impale is a large damage upgrade and is not a popular mod so, it should cheap.
Now that you've finished this Milestone, you are geared enough to start farming for your Red Map gear set. You can do Red Maps on this gear, but you will encounter snags that stop your progression or random deaths to spell effects, so continue onto the next gear set!
Mid Game Goal
This is where you swap to Maces and Suppression gear so that you Stun all the bosses, and survive all their Spells. There is a slight respec from Axe nodes to Mace nodes. Once the Milestones here are completed, your going to be blasting maps and crushing in skulls.
Milestone 1 - The Mace
If you want to start cracking skulls and Stunning bosses you're going to need a great Mace. Grab a Piledriver and start Harvest Reforging Physical and Speed
or find a cheap one on the trade site, checking out our How to Trade article if you need help. You're looking for any of the following modifiers:
- x% increased Physical Damage
- x% increased Physical Damage AND +x to Accuracy Rating as ONE modifier (hybrid Physical)
- Adds x to x Physical Damage
- x% increased Attack Speed
Craft whichever mod you're missing when you hit 2 or 3 of these. If you land T1 hybrid and T3+ flat Physical Damage, check out the Mace crafting guide as you might have hit the jackpot and can craft an amazing Mace!
Milestone 2 - Mace Swap
Once your Mace is done, swap your Tree to the "Mid game Mace Tree" and swap the few skill gems around. When you respec your tree, don't unspec out of Resolute Technique until you obtain 2 T2+ Accuracy rolls on your gear. Check your Accuracy in game. If it's higher than your Life, then spec into [ poe-passive id=63620]Precise Technique[/poe-passive] and drop Resolute Technique. If it's not high enough, don't worry! You are gearing Accuracy in the next step.
When you make the swap in gems, make sure to have Elreon's - Mana cost craft on a Ring to fix your mana issues. If you have a Mace with a few T3-2 rolls and a good craft, 6-socket it at the vendor for 350 Jeweller's Orbs.
Milestone 3 - 6-Linked Body Armour
Purchase an Item Level 77+ hybrid Armour/Evasion Body Armour off the trade site. Harvest Reforge Physical, Elemental, Chaos and Life until you land T3 x%chance to Suppress Spell Damage and some Elemental Resistances + an open craft for Life. This is an easy spot to scoop some Chaos Resistance, as we've made sure to not need too much Elemental Resistance here. Your goal for this gear set is to have 30%+ Chaos Resistance, so keep this in mind while gearing other slots.
Milestone 4 - Onslaught on Kill
Now that you've dropped the Axe wheel giving Onslaught on Kill, use the Unveiled craft 20% increased Movement Speed / 10% chance to gain Onslaught for 4 seconds on Kill on your boots to maintain that Attack and Movement speed buff.
Milestone 5 - Accuracy
Complete this Milestone alongside Milestone 5. Precise Technique is a HUGE damage upgrade for your build. Your #1 damage priority is making sure your Accuracy is higher than your Life. Do this by Harvest Reforging Attack, Chaos, Life and Elemental on Rings, Amulets and Gloves until you roll high Accuracy modifiers with Life and Elemental Resistances.
If you need more Accuracy, you can obtain some from a Murderous Eye Jewel in a Stygian Vise. You can also spec into Weathered Hunter and Accuracy Mastery on the tree, but this should be a LAST RESORT! You should always obtain better gear to free up Passive Tree points.
Milestone 6 - Suppression
Your #1 Survival priority is making sure to get as close to 100% chance to Suppress Spell Damage as possible. This is important because it will reduce all spell damage you take by 50%. Get T3 chance to Suppress Spell Damage on your chest piece and T2 rolls on your Gloves, Helmet or Boots. You can buy Accuracy and Suppression gear off the trade site or through Harvest Reforging
. Detailed below is an example of how to get 100% chance to Suppress Spell Damage
- 10% on Gloves, Boots, and Helmet = 30% total.
- 19% on Body Armour = 49% total.
- 39% from the Entrench Passive wheel + Spell Suppression Mastery if your Boots, Helmet and Gloves have Evasion = 88% total.
- Anoint Instinct for 12% = 100% total.
- 2x Sepia Oil and 1x Azure Oil
Milestone 7 - Crafted Modifier Check
At this point, you are working on getting your Accuracy to be higher than your Life and capping your chance to Suppress Spell Damage. Don't forget to leave room for the following crafts:
- Helmet: x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage (Unveiled from Korrel)
- Gloves AND Amulet: x% increased Damage while Leeching
- Ring: Non-Channeling Skills have -(6-7) to Total Mana Cost
- Boots: 20% increased Movement Speed Cannot be Chilled
Milestone 8 - REAL Flask setup
Flasks are an extremely important part of our build's avoidance and mitigation, so properly invest into them. You need these 4 mods on 4 Flasks.
- %increased Evasion rating during Flask Effect
- %increased Armor during Flask Effect
- %reduced Effect of Curses During Flask Effect
- %increased Attack Speed during Flask Effect
Use the Flasks below, fitting the above mods onto 3 of them where available. Buy or roll Flasks for the mod x% increased Charge Recovery. Grab item level 80 Utility Flask bases, rolling x% increased Charge Recovery and the above modifiers. Either Orb of Augmentation into those, or buy those mods on at least one if you have to.
- Granite Flask
- Jade Flask
- Basalt Flask
- Quicksilver Flask
- The Writhing Jar
- Use the Writhing Jar instead of your Life Flask going forwards. This allows you to obtain all "On Kill" effects from Bane of Legends, Headsman and Death Rush.
Go to your crafting bench and craft Used when Charges reach full on your 4 Utility Flasks to automate their use. This will cost you 5 Instilling Orb and Glassblower's Baubles each.
Milestone 9 - Anomalous Boneshatter
An Anomalous Boneshatter is a HUGE boost in your ability to stun monsters and bosses. 20% reduced Enemy Stun Threshold makes you have to deal less damage to be able to stun monsters and we stack as much of this as possible. If this Gem is worth more than 1 Exalted Orb you can purchase it later on.
Milestone 10 - Stygian Vise
If you did not pick up a Stygian Vise from "Early Game Milestone 4" then now is a great time to craft one. Get Life, Chaos and Elemental Resistances here and use the Abyssal Socket for Accuracy or even more Life making sure that Accuracy is still higher.
Milestone 11 - Watcher's Eye
Your first Watcher's Eye mod should be Chance To Impale while using Pride. Some good 2nd mods (if you can obtain them) are the following:
- % chance to deal Double Damage while using Pride
- % increased Physical Damage while using Pride
- Impales you inflict last x additional Hits while using Pride
- You take x% reduced Extra Damage from Critical Strikes while affected by Determination
- % additional Physical Damage Reduction while affected by Determination
- to Armour while affected by Determination
- % increased Attack Damage while affected by Precision
- % increased Attack Speed while affected by Precision
Milestone 12 - Eldritch Influence
Now you're going to be "finalizing" your gear. At this point your Accuracy NEEDS to be higher than your Life and your x %chance to Suppress Spell Damage NEEDS to be 100%. Eldritch Influence your gear obtaining the following modifiers.
- Helmet: 20% reduced Mana Cost of Attacks with Lesser Eldritch Ember and 6% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage with Lesser Eldritch Ichor.
- Body Armour: (13–14)% increased effect of Non-Curse Auras from your Skills Lesser Eldritch Ember and Pride has 21% increased Aura Effect with Lesser Eldritch Ichor.
- Gloves: Strike Skills target 1 additional nearby Enemy with Lesser Eldritch Ember and 5% chance to Impale Enemies on Hit with Attacks with Lesser Eldritch Ichor.
- If you still need Suppression, you can obtain +5% chance to Suppress Spell Damage with Lesser Eldritch Ichor.
Milestone 13 - Final Mace Craft
This is the final Mace craft that you will do for this build. This typically costs 6+ Exalted Orbs, so be prepared!
End Game Goal
The End Game gear set is good enough to stun non-Uber bosses and destroy mapping content. The final gear focuses on capping Suppression, squeezing Life out of every slot and getting enough damage to Stun bosses. Use Aul's Uprising to fit in Grace to Avoid Attacks.
End Game Goal
Milestone 1 - 6-Linked Body Armour
Most Milestones will need to be completed Simultaneously, keep Accuracy higher than Life and to keep chance to Suppress Spell Damage at 100%. This milestone has you craft a You gain Onslaught on for 6 seconds when Hit Body Armour. This is perfect for Boneshatter because every Trauma Stack damage you take counts as a "Hit" against you.
Milestone 2 - Au's Uprising
Purchase an Aul's Uprising with Pride has no Reservation. This Amulet will allow you to fit a Grace in, but only if your Body Armour is 6-linked. You need a 6-linked Body Armour to link a Level 3 Enlighten Support to all your Auras. Anoint Inveterate to help squeeze a few extra x% chance to Suppress since you cannot use Divine Orb to get perfect rolls anymore.
- Golden Oil
- 2x Black Oil
Milestone 3 - Stygian Vise
The Stygian Vise is a great slot to pick up a TON of Life, Resistances and Dexterity + Intelligence.
Milestone 4 - Suppression Gloves and Helmet
Now you're going to purchase a better Helmet and pair of Gloves. Purchase the following on your Helmet:
- Tier 1 chance to Suppress Spell Damage
- 2 Elemental Resistances with 40%+ rolls.
- Or 1 40%+ Elemental Resistance and ~400 Accuracy. If you do this, then get 2 good Elemental Resistances on Gloves.
On your gloves obtain:
- Tier 1 chance to Suppress Spell Damage
- 40%+ to one Elemental Resistance
- ~400 Accuracy
If the Helmet and Gloves are too expensive, consider purchasing one of the modifiers above already Fractured on the base. Then Harvest Reforge Elemental modifiers until you obtain one of the resistances, or Harvest Reforge Attack for the Accuracy. You can also settle for Tier 2 chance to Suppress Spell Damage, making sure to obtain 90%+ chance to Suppress Spell Damage
Once you've obtained your Suffixes, use Eldritch Chaos Orb to roll for Life. READ how Eldritch Chaos Orb works before using them! Then finish your helmet by crafting % of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage and your Gloves by crafting % increased Damage while Leeching.
Milestone 5 - Boots
Purchase your Boots with 2 40%+ to Elemental Resistances, and a Tier 1/2 chance to Suppress Spell Damage. You can finish your Prefixes with Eldritch Chaos Orb rolling for Life, and crafting % increased Movement Speed + Cannot be Chilled. Enchant your boots with 16% increased Attack and Cast Speed if you've Killed Recently.

- Two 40%+ Elemental Resistances

Milestone 7 - Watcher's Eye
Your second Watcher's Eye mod should be Chance To Impale while using Pride AND any of the following:

- You take x% reduced Extra Damage from Critical Strikes while affected by Determination

Milestone 9 - Eldritch Influence

Feel free to use higher Embers or Ichors to make the modifiers stronger. Eldritch Influence your gear obtaining the following modifiers:
- Helmet: 20% reduced Mana Cost of Attacks with Lesser Eldritch Ember and 6% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage with Lesser Eldritch Ichor.
- Body Armour: (13–14)% increased effect of Non-Curse Auras from your Skills Lesser Eldritch Ember and Pride has 21% increased Aura Effect with Lesser Eldritch Ichor.
- Gloves: Strike Skills target 1 additional nearby Enemy with Lesser Eldritch Ember and 10% chance to Impale Enemies on Hit with Attacks with Greater Eldritch Ichor.
- You can upgrade the Strike Skills target 1 additional nearby Enemy to 2 additional Enemies by rolling it with Greater Eldritch Ember. Then use an Exceptional Eldritch Ichor, followed by an Orb of Conflict 2 times. Hold ALT while you do this to make sure the Tier is increasing. Then use another Exceptional Eldritch Ichor and Orb of Conflict for a 50/50 of hitting Tier 5 Strikes, which is where it upgrades from 1 -> 2.
- If this doesn't make sense, just read the last line on the bottom of Orb of Conflict.
- If you still need Suppression, you can obtain +5% chance to Suppress Spell Damage with Lesser Eldritch Ichor.
- You can upgrade the Strike Skills target 1 additional nearby Enemy to 2 additional Enemies by rolling it with Greater Eldritch Ember. Milestone 10 - Final Mace Craft
