Berserker PvP Guide

Introduction

The Berserker is Lost Ark's take on the traditional rampaging warrior class, with a slight twist. He is fast, beefy, and can dish out serious damage when given the opportunity. This gives the Berserker a decently high rank on the PvP tier list.

In PvP, the Berserker plays more like a hit-and-run assassin than a full-on brawler class. That's mainly because his skills in PvP have high Cooldowns and he can be gated by mana issues as well. Don't worry though, his skills have a devastating impact in battle if used properly.

This article assumes you have a Character with a minimum level of 26 before transitioning to it. Check out the Berserker Leveling and 1-50 Leveling guides to reach Level 26.

Check out the General PvP Guide for a better understanding of the arena systems in place.

❌ High Cooldowns
❌ Some Mana Issues
❌ Somewhat Predictable
❌ Susceptible to Hard CCs

Core Skills

  • Finish Strike is a highly damaging Push Immunity skill that Knocks Down. You can delay the second part of the combo to extend the Push Immunity frames.
  • Shoulder Charge is your main engage and mobility tool. Try to be a little unpredictable when using this skill.
  • Tempest Slash is a good combo skill that Knocks Down on the final strike. Try to get up close to opponents when comboing to hit with every part of the skill. Another tip is positioning yourself to Knock Up the opponent into the opposite direction.
  • Mountain Crash is a great tool for Hard Crowd Controlling opponents. Don't be afraid to toss it on enemies that are downed to lower their speed. Alternatively, you can use the Earthquake Shock Tripod to catch opponents off guard with the ranged shockwave.
  • Diving Slash is a great mobility skill used to engage or escape.
  • Red Dust is a high damaging ranged skill. It applied an increased damage taken debuff on opponents. Try not to throw it out too much as a ranged skill, as it's a big damaging skill.
  • Sword Storm is one of your main Push Immunity skills with a powerful Hard Crowd Control attached to it.

PvP Builds

Team Deathmatch (3v3)

Combat Stats

  • 750 Swiftness, 1 Critical and 249 Domination

Alternatives

  • Maelstrom can be used over Diving Slash for more Push Immunity.
  • Red Dust alternative version for Knock Up.

Basic Combo #1

  1. Start with Shoulder Charge or Wind Blade.
  2. Follow up with Tempest Slash. You can position yourself to Knock Up your opponent in the opposite direction by using the skill at a slight angle (try to be close to them).
  3. You can add in Mountain Crash as they are falling down.
  4. Finish with Red Dust or Finish Strike.

Basic Combo #2

  1. Start with Shoulder Charge Start with Sword Storm.
  2. Follow up with RedDust or Tempest Slash (you might have to walk in a bit if they are too far).
  3. Can finish with Red Dust.

Basic Combo #3

  1. Start with Wind Blade or Shoulder Charge.
  2. Follow up with Mountain Crash.
  3. Finish with Tempest Slash.
  4. Continue with Red Dust if it's safe.

Basic Combo #4

  1. Start with Shoulder Charge or Wind Blade.
  2. Follow with Red Dust
  3. Stun with Mountain Crash.
  4. Finish with Finish Strike.

Gameplay

  • Use a hit and run playstyle; coordinate engagements with your team and back out after using your skills. Make sure to check your Cooldowns and Mana before engaging again.
  • Look to initiate onto enemies with Shoulder Charge or Hard Crowd Control them with Sword Storm or Mountain Crash. Follow up with your Basic Combos.
  • Sword Storm and Finish Strike are your main Push Immunity skills. Delaying the two-part combo of Finish Strike allows you to extend the animation of the skill, giving you more Push Immunity frames if needed (Hard Crowd Controls can still affect you).
  • Transform with Bloody Rush Identity to briefly gain complete Full Immunity to counter opponents. It gives you two Push Immunity skills (one of which grants Full Immunity.) and a damage skill that Knocks Down enemies down after activation of Bloody Rush again.
  • Both Chain of Vengeance and Berserk Fury are viable Awakenings. Chain of Vengeance is easier to pull off and can follow Sword Storm or Mountain Crash. It also gives more Identity Gauge. Berserk Fury is more unpredictable and can potentially deal a lot of damage.

GvG
Heavy Armor
Fortitude
Master's Tenacity Mayhem

Gameplay

GvG is more chaotic than Arena battles, so you rarely have the opportunity to do long combos. This mode is more about zoning/interrupting objectives and assisting allies. Do your best to coordinate with your team and stick together. Refer to 3v3 section for more gameplay tips.

Please refer to the GvG Islands and GvG Builds Guide for more information!

Heavy Armor Equipment
Spirit Absorption
Judgment

There are no actual combos listed here compare to the other PvP builds because the build is built around zoning/interrupting objectives and mostly assisting allies. Since there will be more than 8 enemies on the field, it'll be really hard to pull off a long combo with many spells and attacks being unleash on the field.

Basically, use the skills base on the situations. Holy Land, can be use for annoying enemies on the objectives as it can prevent enemies from trying to capture the objectives by interrupting the capturing animation from the damage ticks that the ground effect does, and it helps in mass fights were the enemies can't stand on top of your allies for more than 3 ticks before they get stun by the skill.

GvG can be a lot more chaotic than Arenas as theres more than 3 opponents rushing into the fight, Paladin's role usually be sticking close to the backlines or allies immobile range classes to assist them if they get group on, while also play around from their range since the build is kitted with more range skills than Arena builds.

GvG Engraving

Priority

  • Heavy Armor Equipment-engraving] level 3 increases all defense for higher survivability. Moreover, armor shredding debuffs doesn't affect the bonus defense increase effect from the engraving.
  • Spirit Absorption increases attack speed and movement speed by a significant amount at level3 engraving effect which will help with positioning and getting skills cast out quicker.
  • Judgment level 1 increases duration of Sacred Executioner by 100% to 40 seconds. Additionally increases sword skills damage and identity gauge gain rate.

Additional Choices

  • Cursed Doll since Cursed Doll doesn't affect a player character, this is the next best engraving for damage increase in general. Furthermore, Island PvP disables consumables so the penalty isn't too penalizing and GvGs consumables are very limited as well which eventually player will run out consumables quick as well.
  • Divine Protection, Fortitude and Strong Will these are the engravings to stack for maximum defenses.
  • Raid Captain is also another good damage engraving option for Island PvP and GvGs since players will be stacking high Swiftness stats for having fast animation casting speed and general movespeed as well as more cooldown reductions then stacking with Spirit Absorption will max out 140% movesment speed cap which will grant the max 18% damage increase from Raid Captain.
  • Champion's Tenacity Island PvP with disabled consumables and the very limited amount of consumables in GvGs means a lot of the time the player spent being damaged and unable to heal up, so this engraving will help give some boost to damage while the player is below 50% health pool.
  • Shield Piercing self-explanatory; usually well coordinated guilds will stack lots of classes that has team shield or personal shields, this engraving will help a little from shield stack pushes.

Summary

  • Stick with the team in order to protect each other. Feel free to branch off from time to time to look for engagements or openings.
  • Play towards the outskirts of the map when looking for engagements.
  • Be patient, mana and Cooldowns are big issues with this class.
  • Remember your Push Immunity skills and transformation immunity.
  • Abuse FoV (Field of Vision) by and keeping your opponents horizontal from you.
