Artist PvP Build Guide

Introduction

The Arist is Lost Ark's new Specialist class that wields a magical paintbrush to dish out damage or support their team. She'll be the 3rd support added to the roster.

As an Artist, your job is to support your teammates in battle first and foremost. She can summon a multitude of holy beasts by painting them with her trusty brush. When in danger, she has a lot of protection options for her and the team. She is a very solid pick in any team composition and as a support, has incredible value when played well.

This article assumes you have a Character with a minimum level of 26 before transitioning to it. Check out the Artist Leveling and 1-50 Leveling guides to reach Level 26.

Core Skills

  • Stroke: Sprinkle great skill for shielding teammates and a long range poke option. It has a relatively low CD so don't be afraid of just using it for poke in neutral.
  • Stroke: Hopper your main mobility skill. This skill can also be used to Knockdown enemies and shield teammates when needed.
  • Paint: Butterfly Dream a short range CC skill. Can be used to peel enemies or can be used as an aggressive stun.
  • Paint: Pouncing Tiger your main nuking skill. Use it on CC'd targets for big damage.
  • Paint: Starry Night self defense skill. You'll have Push Immunity during this skill.
  • Paint: Ink Well your 2nd nuking skill. Can be used alongside CC'd targets or can be used to catch opponents with a Knockup.
  • Paint: Crane Wing your long range CC skill. It's a great skill for peeling enemies off teammates. This skill also does a surprising amount of damage when all 3 birds hit, so don't be afraid of using it for damage if needed.
  • Stroke: Upward Stroke another Push Immunity skill that Knocksup enemies. You can delay the 2nd part of the hit for longer immunity frames. Be sure to pick up the orb that falls from this skill for a shield.
  • Masterwork: Efflorescence similar to Bard's Awakening, a long lasting shield for tempo and protection.

Sunrise (Identity)

  • For PvP, we will not be using Moonfall (Z).
  • Sunrise will place down an energy orb nearby that heals an ally when interacting with it (G). The skill grants Push Immunity when placing the orb down.
  • Either place the orbs near your teammates for easy access or use them for yourself.
  • Be sure to ping the orbs when placed so they don't forget about them!
  • Orbs will expire once you die.
  • With 250 Specialization, the orb heals around 18,000 HP.

Alternatives

  • Paint: Door of Illusion could be a fun skill to use, but is really hard to coordinate with. If your teammates take the portal they will reappear on the other side with Push Immunity for a few seconds.
  • Spring Garden on Paint: Butterfly Dream could be used for more zoning CC.
  • Two Tigers on Paint: Pouncing Tiger can be used for a bigger hitbox, but reduces damage.
  • Paint: Sunsketch could be an option for another Push Immunity. The buff isn't very efficient on top of the fact Artist has a lot of great skills to choose from already.
  • Moving Starlight can be taken on Paint: Starry Night to move around with.

Basic Combo #1

  1. Catch with Paint: Crane Wing.
  2. Follow with any nuke skills or Stroke: Hopper.

Basic Combo #2

  1. Catch with Paint: Butterfly Dream.
  2. Follow with nuke skill.

Basic Combo #3

  1. Catch with Stroke: Upward Stroke.
  2. Stun with Paint: Butterfly Dream as they fall.
  3. Follow with nuke skill.

Gameplay

  • Artist resembles a combination of Bard + Paladin in terms of supportive and offensive capabilities.
  • Focus on helping teammates with Paint: Crane Wing and Paint: Butterfly Dream for CC.
  • Paint: Pouncing Tiger and Paint: Ink Well are great skills for peeling as well + DMG.
  • Try to shield teammates and hit enemies with Stroke: Sprinkle to get the most value of the skill. Stroke: Hopper can also be used to create space + mobility. The shield from these overtime does make a big difference!
  • Your goal is to slowly build up towards your Sunrise. Drop those orbs when you can to heal your teammates for lots of HP. Try not to place them in bad positions. The orbs on the field don't go away until you die.

Gameplay

GvG is more chaotic than Arena battles, so you rarely have the opportunity to do long combos. This mode is more about zoning/interrupting objectives and assisting allies. Do your best to coordinate with your team and stick together. Refer to 3v3 section for more gameplay tips.
