Skills
Javelin
Javelin is your main Damage. Grab Siege Barrage and Spiked Bombardment to turn this ability into a deadly barrage that falls from the sky. Take Purifying Lightning for the Electrify Chance and Divine Throws for the Lightning conversions. Grab Excellent Balance to reduce its Mana cost.
Sigils Of Hope
Sigils Of Hope provides incredibly valuable buffs that stack, but with a high Mana cost. Spec into Burning Sign for additional Ignite Chance and Empowering Sigils for the Damage increase. This setup also grants survivability with Iron Sigils. Grab Last Wish for a chance to cast a Sigil on kill.
Smite
Smite helps to further increase the single target DPS the build is capable of dishing out, but Adorned Rahyeh Idols with Chance To Cast Smite When You Hit With Throwing Attacks are needed to proc it through Javelin. Sacrifice provides Damage and Order of Lagon grants the Lightning conversion.
Volatile Reversal
Volatile Reversal is a unique Movement ability with tons of utility. Use the Time Rifts and Harbinger of Dust Nodes to apply a powerful debuff on your enemies that makes them take additional Damage. It can be used for extreme mobility and animation canceling. Take your time and master its mechanics!
Holy Aura
Holy Aura is a strong support ability that provides powerful buffs to yourself and everyone around you. This setup focuses on granting defenses with the Shelter from the Storm and Purification Nodes and tons of Throwing Attack Speed with the Expedite and Fanaticism Nodes, with the Haste buff on top!
Alternative Skills & Tips
- Equip unspecced Shield Rush or Lunge on your Skill bar for an additional Movement Skill. Smite procs through Adorned Rahyeh Idols and doesn't need to be on your Skill Bar at all.
- If you have enough Mana Regeneration to sustain your Javelin spam, take Points from Excellent Balance and invest them on Spear to the Thigh and Mighty Delivery for extra Damage.
- Put more Points into Sigils Of Hope's Iron Sigils Node over Burning Sign Node if you lack survivability and have enough Damage early on.
Passives
Passives provide powerful effects that dictate the playstyle of a Class and its Masteries. Remember that you can allocate Passives on the first half of all Masteries regardless of the one you chose.
- Armour Clad grants Damage Reduction and is crucial for any Sentinel's survivability.
- Juggernaut, Abyssal Endurance and Holy Symbol provide tons of Resistances.
- Place at least 1 Point into Gladiator, Steel Aegis, Honour and Shield Wall for the Block Chance.
- Combine Faith Armour with gear to cap your Critical Strike Avoidance.
- The stats granted by Reverence of Duality are extremely powerful.
- Invest your final Points in Prayer Aegis or Light of Rahyeh, depending on your needs.
Make sure to complete the Campaign to get all your Passive Points.
Gameplay
This Paladin uses Javelin to rapidly apply deadly stacks of Electrify and fry enemies alive. Remember that you don't need Smite on your Skill bar. Make sure you are familiar with enemy mechanics to know when to use your Support Skills to stay alive. Pay attention to their telegraphed attacks!
Skill Usage/Rotation
- Cast 4 Sigils Of Hope for their buffs.
- Spam Javelin at enemies.
- Use unspecced Shield Rush or Lunge to move across the map.
- Cast Volatile Reversal on top of enemies for its buffs and extra Damage.
- Maintain 4 Sigils Of Hope up at all times.
Mapping
- Rush to the objective with unspecced Shield Rush or Lunge.
- Proc the Haste buff from Holy Aura's Expedite Node for the additional Movement Speed.
- Be careful not to backtrack when using Volatile Reversal.
- Group mobs before using Volatile Reversal to maximize its Buffs.
Bossing
- Take advantage of all your defensive buffs and keep them active.
- Actively use Holy Aura to double the effect of its buffs.
- Spam Javelin at Bosses to build up Electrify stacks and then use Volatile Reversal on top of them to rapidly ramp your DPS.
- Keep unspecced Shield Rush off Cooldown for emergency situations or telegraphed Boss attacks.
Advanced Skill Tips
- Use Volatile Reversal to cancel out animations. This can be used to interrupt Shield Rush mid animation in dangerous situations. This mechanic can be pushed to the extreme by skilful players, creating a choreography of blinks and dashes that the enemy AI struggles to keep up with. At the same time, using this at the wrong time could end up with you in the wrong spot, so be extremely careful while learning how to use this Skill.
- Proc the Haste buff from Holy Aura's Expedite Node before using Shield Rush. The additional Movement Speed gained by the buff applies to the entire duration of Shield Rush, even if the buff expires.
