Learn about Skills and Passives for the Primalist Druid Leveling Build.
Druid Passives
Passives provide powerful effects that dictate the playstyle of a Class and its Masteries. Remember that you can allocate Passives in the first half of any Mastery regardless of the one you chose. Powerful skills and nodes are usually found in the masteries tree.
Don't spend any passive point past 20 points invested until you get your Mastery!
Skills
Swipe
At level 5 spec into Swipe. Use it as your main damaging skill until you unlock Maelstrom, then as a mana generator. Once you unlock Swarmblade Form, replace it with Serpent Strike.
Maelstrom
Spec Maelstrom when you unlock it. As you put points in Beneath The Waves, you can cast Maelstrom less often while keeping a high stack count.
Werebear Form
Once you get your mastery spec Werebear Form. You use it when you get a node called Swarm's Fury in Swarmblade Form. This makes Locust Swarm last longer, but it allows you to also cast Roar which takes Warcry's tree into account, giving you a short invulnerability buff as well as Frenzy and Haste.
Summon Spriggan
At level 35 spec into Summon Spriggan. It is a powerful boost to our defense with Aura of Retribution and Aura of Evasion. It also adds more recovery to the build with Aura of Life and Aura of Loyalty.
Swarmblade Form
Spec Swarmblade Form once it unlocks. Use Summon Hive and Armblade Slash to build up bleed stacks and locusts and then Swarm Strike to create a huge Locust Swarm. Shapeshift to Werebear Form to extend Locust Swarm's duration.
Serpent Strike
Once you unlock Swarmblade Form, respec Swipe for Serpent Strike. It is initially used as a mana generator, a dash and an execute below 18% Health. Once you have Viper's Call in the Swarmblade Form tree, it also makes you apply more bleeds to further increase Locust Swarm damage.
Warcry
At level 50 spec into Warcry giving you a short invulnerability buff as well as Frenzy and Haste.
Gameplay
As we level the power of skills shift, with some becoming stronger while others get weaker. To account for this, we transition from a setup that is optimized for early game to one that is more suited to tackling endgame content.
Early Setup
- At level 5 spec Swipe and use it as your main damage skill until you unlock Maelstrom. Then use it as a filler skill in between Maelstrom casts.
- At level 12 spec Maelstrom and use it as your main damage skill until you unlock Swarmblade Form. Once you spec into Beneath The Waves, you can cast multiple stacks of Maelstrom at the same time.
- Use Summon Wolf to aggro monsters.
- Use Fury Leap to move quickly through the chapters.
Final Setup
- When you unlock your Mastery spec Werebear Form. Don't use it until you unlock Swarmblade Form. After that, change your form to Werebear Form while in Swarmblade Form to extend the duration of Locust Swarm. You also want to use Rampage to move faster.
- At level 35 spec Serpent Strike. We only use it in Swarmblade Form thanks to Viper's Call.
- When you unlock Swarmblade Form respec Swipe for it. Use Summon Hive and Armblade Slash to build up bleed stacks and locusts. Then use Swarm Strike to create a huge Locust Swarm.
- When you unlock Swarmblade Form respec Maelstrom for Summon Spriggan. He provide a passive buff to your defence.
- At level 50 spec Warcry. You use it while in Werebear Form to get back to Swarmblade Form. It also provides defensive buffs.
